Students from Maryland areas, such as Silver Spring, Fort Washington, Waldorf, Temple Hills, Elkton, Gaithersburg, and Upper Marlboro, are also welcome to NMTI to start a full time or part time career in therapeutic massage and bodywork in as little as seven months. The possibilities are endless because therapeutic massage is in such high demand in Virginia. The program also attracts nurses, personal trainers and physical / occupational therapists looking to supplement their professional skills.
Day, evening, and weekend classes are offered to students who need flexibility in their lives. NMTI offers a hands-on diverse curriculum including Swedish and Sports massage, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Ethics, and Business Management. Students can study massage therapy with confidence that the environment is always clean and professional. Upon completion of the massage therapy program, students receive a certificate and are qualified to take the National Certification Exam in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, which is required for licensure in most states. Graduates are offered job placement assistance in chiropractic offices, orthopedic offices, family practices, spas, gyms, cruise ships, or salons. NMTI instructors and administrative staff will also assist you in creating an appropriate resume and will make active job leads available to you in the Northern VA and Washington D.C. areas.
